This is the perfect time to renew your SWE membership! It's easy. You just need to follow the steps below. For those of you who are graduating with more than two years left, it is encouraged that you take advantage of the "Collegiate to Career (C2C) NEW for renewing Collegiate member" membership product. It is a one-time $50 payment covering your collegiate membership through the first year of professional membership. In comparison to $20 per year, this is the cost-savings option over the years.

The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest - November 15

Heal the Bay will be hosting the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest on November 15th at the Santa Monica Pier. They are looking for potential candidates who would be interested in signing up for this regional contest. Winners of this contest will move on to compete nationally. ASME Event: INSPIRE Me

ASME will be hosting an event on Friday, May 23 in the Building 17 Atrium & Engineering Meadow from 10 AM - 1 PM. This event is called "INSPIRE ME" and it is targeted to inspire minorities and women to seek a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
This event is completely FREE, all we need is your presence and inspiration for these students. Lunch will be provided as well!

Robot Rally Volunteers Needed - May 9

Professional Women's Conference - Sat, May 3

This conference is designed to inspire and challenge women to be their best in the professional world by providing perspectives, strategies and tools for creating and sustaining career and personal growth.

End of the Year Banquet!

It is nearing the end of the year and that means that it is time to celebrate!
The Society of Women Engineers is holding its annual end of the year banquet on Friday, May 2nd from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Royal Vista Golf Course.
The theme of the banquet this year is The Great Gatsby! This will be a final hurrah of the year to celebrate the achievements of our chapter this year as well as just to have fun dressing up, listening to professionals, eating a fancy dinner, playing games and dancing. Along with this we will be welcoming the new officers as well as thanking the past officers.
If you're ready for a wonderful night tickets will be on sale for this marvelous event starting April 8th and ticket sales will continue every Tuesday and Thursday until April 17th during U-Hour in the Room 9-169.

Beyond Photo 51 Submissions

The Beyond Photo 51 editors are seeking testimonials about gender discrimination in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields from all genders and sexes. All perspectives are welcomed. They aim to discuss gendered discrimination in today's STEM environments in a way that both exposes concerns and explores possible solutions.
Beyond Photo 51 will be a published book containing a compilation of the best submissions. All submissions will be treated with complete confidentiality. Pseudonyms are certainly allowed, although they ask that you include name, field of work, and age at the time of submission.

We are looking for volunteers for activities, tours, student panels, and other tasks during this event.
Event: ACCESS (Advancing Community Colleges by Empowering STEM Students)
What: Help community college students see what types of resources will be available at their university, how they can take advantage of those resources, and how to make the most of their time after transferring. The students will get to tour the various labs on campus, interact with other Cal Poly students, and get a chance to talk to a practicing scientist, mathematician, or engineer.

Evening With Industry tickets will be going on sale September 26th (first day of classes) until October 10. If you don't know what Evening With Industry is, it's an annual engineering networking event hosted by the Society of Women Engineers and it allows students to interact with various engineering companies in a relaxed environment. The event includes dinner, ice breakers, a guest speaker, and networking.
This year, there will be an early bird ticket sale for SWE MEMBERS ONLY. If you're already a SWE member, you could buy your ticket for $10 any time from September 26 to October 2.
